Coloratura soprano Danielle Adams is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Adams is a 2014 graduate of the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned both her Masters and Bachelors of Music degrees. Most recently, Ms. Adams was the soprano soloist for Bach’s St. John Passion with Collegium Cincinnati and Queen City Chamber Orchestra in early 2016. She made her debut with Collegium Cincinnati as the soprano soloist, Lieschen, in J.S. Bach’s cunning and hilarious Coffee Cantata (BWV 211) in Spring of 2015. Ms. Adams is also seen regularly as both soloist and member of the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble, the Cincinnati Bach Ensemble, and the Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble.
2014 saw Ms. Adams in her debut with the Cincinnati Opera Chorus in their production of Bizet’s Carmen. In November of 2013, Ms. Adams bowed as the soprano soloist in a critically revered, semi-staged production of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion with the CCM Philharmonia and Chamber Choir, in conjunction with the 2013 Constella Music Festival. Summer of 2013, showed Ms. Adams in the role of Mrs. Nordstrom (A Little Night Music) and Torta Gwentrob in the premier of Roger Zahab’s Night Caps International: Penthouse Suite with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, where she was a 2013 Young Artist. During her tenure at CCM, Ms. Adams was seen in the roles of Gasparina (La Canterina), Kohout (The Cunning Little Vixen), and First Nursemaid (Street Scene). Ms. Adams has appeared as the soprano soloist for Orff’s Carmina Burana, and as a featured soloist in The Monteverdi Project, produced by Dr. Earl Rivers and Catacoustic Consort’s Founder and Artistic Director – Annalisa Pappano. She is excited for her inaugural performance as the soprano soloist in Handel’s beloved masterwork, Messiah, with Cincinnati Collegium this December.
In addition to her performance schedule, Ms. Adams also maintains a private voice studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. She believes in teaching her students to not only sing with good technique, but to tell their stories through music and to have the confidence to use their voices to change the world. She resides in Newport, KY with her little black cat, Louis.
