Ms. Yvette Kuo is passionate about helping students discover the joy of piano playing, reach their full potential, and achieve both their short- and long-term musical goals. She welcomes students of all ages and levels, offering a traditional foundation that integrates training in music reading, sight-reading, theory, ear training, harmonization, and improvisation. Her lessons aim to create an engaging and encouraging environment while maintaining clear expectations and emphasizing discipline—ensuring that each student’s learning journey is both enjoyable and rewarding over time.
Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each student’s interests and goals, allowing musicians of all backgrounds to experience the joy of piano playing. Ms. Kuo identifies each student’s strengths and learning styles, designs personalized curricula, and provides strategic solutions to overcome challenges in their studies.
Students in Ms. Kuo’s piano studio have the opportunity to showcase their growth at annual studio recitals and to participate in level examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program.
Born in Taiwan and raised in Singapore, pianist Yvette Kuo began piano studies at the age of four. She attended the School of the Arts, Singapore, and graduated with high honors from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) with a Bachelor of Music degree, studying under Dr. Dror Biran. She later earned her Master of Music degree (2021) from CCM under the tutelage of Prof. Ran Dank.
Ms. Kuo was awarded Third Prize at the 2012 Taiwan-Asia International Piano Competition and First Prize at the School of the Arts Piano Concerto Competition. She has appeared as a soloist with the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra (Switzerland).
Ms. Kuo offers piano lessons conducted in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
