Maria’s musical story began at five years old when she first picked up the violin. In high school, Maria studied with Karla Siegler (Kettle Moraine Symphony Concertmaster) and performed with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Maria attended the University of Dayton, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Music Minor and bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Religious Studies & Theology. As a recipient of both the Music Talent Scholarship and Leadership in Music Scholarship at the University of Dayton, Maria led the University Orchestra as concertmaster and was the founding first violinist of the University of Dayton String Quartet. Maria was awarded the Department of Music Senior Award for Outstanding Contribution to the University Orchestra.
Today, Maria performs with the Cincinnati Community Orchestra as a second violinist while working professionally with the Hillman Group in Forest Park, Ohio. She also enjoys working as a freelance violinist for wedding ceremonies, church services, and special events in the Dayton-Cincinnati region.
Maria understands that every student arrives with different goals, motivations, and challenges, and is committed to meeting each student where they are. Maria’s goal is not only to help students develop strong technical skills, but also to foster life-long skills in perseverance, self-expression, curiosity, and confidence. Maria strives to create a supportive and encouraging environment where every student can grow both as a musician and as an individual. By nurturing a lifelong appreciation for music, she hopes to help students build a relationship with their instrument that is as rewarding and enduring as her own.
