The world-class violin lessons at Toedtman are well suited for students of any age, and we are fortunate to have access to such skilled and approachable musicians and mentors.
Tze Yean Lim
Tze Yean Lim has a doctoral degree in Violin from CCM (the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music). He teaches on the faculty of Miami University’s music school, as well as CCM’s Preparatory Department. Aside from being a remarkable violin soloist – he has given recitals in South Africa, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia – he has tutored students to great success over the years. Lim’s students have been featured soloists with the Louisville Orchestra, the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra among others.
James Braid
James Braid performed as a violinist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for many years, beginning in 1974. He was concertmaster with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra for more than two decades, and he continues to teach on the faculty of Cincinnati’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts. He and his wife co-founded the Prelude Strings chamber music camp, where they lead music instruction for three weeks every summer for students age 12 through 18.
Peter Gorak
Peter Gorak received his Bachelor’s in Viola Performance at Central Washington University in 2013 and was appointed as Principal Violist in the university’s symphony orchestra. Peter later gained his Master’s in Viola Performance from University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music (CCM) on scholarship.
Sarah Gorak
Sarah Gorak is graduate of Central Washington University, earning her Bachelor’s of Music Education and her K-12 teaching certification with specializations in Instrumental, Choral, and General Music. Sarah believes in being a life long student and has been actively studying with international qualifying jazz cellist Greg Byers since 2016.
